3) Install Steps (Simple & Correct)
1. Set the opening width and mark the start post / end post positions. Check levels and falls for drainage.
2. Prepare a solid concrete base for the cantilever base frame (typically 150–200mm thick, reinforced if
needed).
3. Position and bolt down the galvanised base frame perfectly straight and square to the opening.
4. Fit the roller carriages to the base frame. Keep them parallel and spaced as per the frame holes.5. Lift the gate onto the roller carriages (telehandler/forklift recommended). Check it slides smoothly by hand.
6. Install the receiver/catcher post on the closing side and fit top guide/stop to prevent movement in wind.
7. Fit/align the gear rack to the gate so it meshes cleanly with the motor pinion (no climbing or skipping).
8. Electrical supply: AC 220V via isolator + RCD protection. Use SWA/armoured cable and correct glands.
9. Program remotes (fobs) and set travel limits/force settings. Test safety reverse/photocells if fitted.
10. Final checks: smooth travel, no rubbing, clean stop into catcher, manual release works, all fixings tight.
4) Key Measurements (Rule of Thumb)
• Opening width: 13ft (approx.)
• Recommended run-back space: opening width + 30–50% extra (aim 18–20ft if possible).
• Keep base frame dead straight: any twist will cause binding.
5) Safety Notes (Important)
Electrical work should be completed by a competent installer. Fit an isolator, RCD protection, and ensure
safe cable routing. Always test manual release and safety devices before leaving si
